The Mission
of the Le Mars Fire-Rescue Department is to minimize lose of life and
Property for the City of Le Mars and other areas covered in Plymouth
county. This would be from Fires, Natural Disasters, and other Life and
Property Threatening Situations. Also to assist other Emergency Agencies
when needed.
To Perform these services in an efficient manner by maintaining
effective Fire Department Prevention, Emergency Response, Fire
Suppression and Training.
Le Mars Fire-Rescue service area:
- Cities: Le
Mars, Brunsville and the Village of Seney.
- Townships: Elgin, America, Stanton, Grant, Preston,
Johnson, and Washington.
- Some of these Townships are served in part or full, About 150
sections.
- City of Le Mars, Iowa is an area of about 10 square miles and
the ISO rate is 5.
The Fire-Rescue Department has a full time Fire Chief and 29 on call
pay Volunteers. Up to 10 none pay Reserve Volunteers are also
authorized. 2 Fire Stations.
